CIAN Mobile Application — Privacy Notice

This section applies to the CIAN mobile application ("the App") published by Cosmic Institute of Acupuncture and Naturopathy (CIAN). It supplements our website privacy policy and describes information practices specific to the App.

1. Information the App Collects

• Phone Number & Account Identity: We collect your mobile phone number to sign you in and verify your identity using a one-time password (OTP). We also store the name and role (e.g., patient or clinic staff) associated with your account.
• Profile Photo (Optional): A picture you choose to set on your profile.
• Health-Related Information: Appointment details, patient records, and medical reports or documents you create or upload through the App. This is sensitive personal information and is handled with additional care.
• Location: With your permission, we use your device's approximate or precise location to show nearby clinics and distances. Location is accessed only while you are using the App.
• Diagnostic & Crash Data: We collect crash reports and basic technical information (device model, operating-system version, app version, and crash details) through Google Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix problems.

2. Device Permissions the App Requests

• SMS / Phone: To receive and automatically read the OTP used to verify your phone number at sign-in.
• Location: To show nearby clinics and distances.
• Camera & Photos / Media: To let you set a profile picture and upload medical reports or documents.
• Internet & Network State: Required for the App to communicate with our servers.

You can change or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings; some features may not work without the relevant permission.

3. How We Use This Information

We use the information to create and secure your account, verify your identity, provide core features (booking and managing appointments, storing and sharing patient records and reports with the clinic you interact with), show relevant nearby clinics, diagnose crashes and improve the App, communicate with you about your account or appointments, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Storage and Sharing

• Your data is stored and processed using Google Firebase services (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Storage), provided by Google LLC.
• Information you submit as a patient (such as appointments and reports) is shared with the clinic(s) you interact with so they can provide care. Clinic staff can access records relevant to their patients.
• We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and our service.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal and health data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations.
